I didn’t update with Friday’s class info.

I think I will just post when something exciting happens, I don’t know.

The only good thing right now, is I meet with my CFI(flight instructor) for the first time tomorrow.

Aerodynamics 2 and Systems 2

Today was more of the same. A little more indepth with the information today, but still a lot of review for me.

The big news for the day doesn't really have anything to do with school. Tropical depression Ophelia became a hurricane today. A few different models show it going out to sea, then turning back for land. They're still unsure where it will hit, but I'm in the general vicinity they're predicting. I'm not too concerned about it, but it's on my mind now.

Well, homework done, dishes done, laundry done. Time for bed.

Today was Aerodynamics 1 and Systems 1.

For me it was a complete bore, but for a few others today was a slight struggle. Personally, I can already see a few who will be having a very hard time with this course.

It was hard making it through the entire class without wanting to doze off. I'm excited to get into some newer material, or even material I've forgotten about.

I'm not sure if I like the structure of the ground school yet. They seem to always alternate instructors, and the students are responsible for a bit of paperwork every day, that seems like it could be automated a little better.

It wasn't a bad day, just long. Tomorrow will be much of the same, but it's nice to at least be in the classroom. Thinking about the subject.

Well today I met a lot of people, and signed a lot of paperwork. I signed my name more times than I care to remember. I heard the same thing from 10 different people, but only three times per person.

I'm not sure if they communicate what they are teaching to the other instructors, but it seemed that today, I heard the same thing over and over. New person would come into the room to introduce who they are, and what they do. Then they would talk for about 50 minutes. 30 minutes of what they talked about, we just heard 30 minutes ago. It was a little frustrating to say the least. I felt like I wasted a lot of time today.

I did however get all my books and materials needed for ground school. I got my new flight bag, and my uniform shirts. Which I found out, I needed to have slacks for tomorrow. Apparently, paying 266 bucks for uniforms, isn't enough to have them same day. So I had to go out and spend another 30 bucks on pants. Thanks Flight Safety. Also, they mentioned today that it was a requirement of the uniform to have dark/black shoes. Another shred of information that wasn't shared with me prior to this day. Another 50 bucks on shoes. I'm just frustrated that they didn't tell me about EVERYTHING. I felt I was ambushed with this last minute stuff, and I hate that. I had to get some lined paper, and binders also. Oh well, no big deal really I guess, just aggravating.

So now I have everything I need pretty much. Just waiting for my pants to come in from the uniform shop. They better fit perfectly too.

I got my mailbox today also, as you can see.

I'm excited for tomorrow, day 1 of Private ground school.

Today has finally come. Today is registration and orientation day. After being here for a little over a week, today I get started. I will get all my books and my schedule, as well as a piss test, and uniforms.

I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get up early enough, hah. I could barely sleep at all last night.

So yea, I’ll let ya know how it goes 🙂
